Fitness Depot Biography

Source:- Google.com.pk
I was born on Nov 27 1975 in Manila Philippines.  My parents are Restie and Tessie Pineda and I have two older brothers, Rex and Restie Jr.
When I was 6 months old, we came to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada where I lived and completed my high school years.  For the past 15 years, I have called Toronto, Ontario my home. I live right in the heart of the city with my husband, Hubert.
My love for sport and stage were clear from a young age.  My parents enrolled me in ballet, tap, jazz and musical theatre.  I played soccer, and ran track for most of my adolescence school years.
I ran both indoor and outdoor track and did Hurdles in the City Finals in my Senior year of High School.  All the girls towered over me in the final’s line-up. I was the shortest girl, but the fact that the hurdles came up to my chest, didn’t phase me at all!  The spectators in the stands watching, probably wondered how I was going to get over the hurdles.  But I mastered technique and speed and practiced for months for the competition and because of that, I got my 2nd place win!
In my later teens my competitive spirit took on another breed of competition; Pageants.  I entered the Miss Philippines Hamilton Pageant and I discovered my love for stage time, and placed 2nd in the competition.  At the time, competing in the pageant was more for my Mom but the experience stayed with me and really helped when I got into Physique Competitions.  Both are subjective, competitive contests and in both, you wear high heels and a bikini and are judged on poise, confidence and physique.
My first show…
In 2002, I entered the first ever Figure Competition in Ontario, Canada – the Ontario Naturals Championships (OPA/CBBF) My debut in the sport proved to be successful.  I placed a 2nd.  And with my first taste of “Figure”, I felt a strong desire to continue to train for the sport.  Making gains both mentally and physically through training is very important to me.  It keeps me feeling challenged.
Going international…
Between competing and various wins from 2002-2006, I ventured to the Philippines to take my fitness ideals and training to my birth place.
My planned 2 month trip, turned into an exciting year long adventure during which I opened my own fitness center in Manila, Philippines; became a Promo Model for Cybex Philippines Distributor, Finix Fitness; was featured in a 4 page FHM- Philippines magazine spread; guest judged at MuscleMania-Philippines 2003;guest featured at the Iron Man Philippines Bodybuilding Competition 2004.
2005-2006
Upon my return to Toronto, I continued to compete and landed a
National Advertising Campaign for Fitness Depot Canada.   As the
“Boxer Girl”,  my image was spread across Canada in the “I Am Strong”
Fitness Depot National TV commercial, on Bus Shelters and on their website.  It’s still aired whenever New Years comes around.
On a personal note…
Between competing in 2005 & 2006, I married the love of my life, Mr.
Hubert Boorder, and I competed in 2 regional shows, making my way to the Ontario Championships…
Then, a  break in my normal routine had me traveling with Hubert for his career, studying a new culture, and re-visiting my love for writing (penning a 400 pg. novel), and taking a 2 year break from competing.
The comeback…
While traveling to numerous countries for both work and play-Yalta,Ukraine; Durango, Mexico; Boracay, Philippines; Moscow, Russia; I indulged in life without a strict diet for the first time in
6 years.  But in Nov. 2008 I returned to the stage again, eager to prove that the athlete within, never fully retires.
Within my comeback year, I competed in 6 competitions, switched from Figure to the new Bikini Class, and finished strong in November 2009 with top 3 wins; two 2nd place wins and two 1st place wins earning my way to both of the CBBF’s National events in 2010- The Natural Canada’s and the Non-tested Canadian Nationals.
These would be shows number 7 and 8 for me within 14 months!
I placed 2nd and 4th respectively, and after finishing strong at these National competitions, I couldn’t just stop there.  I still wanted that prized IFBB Pro Card!  Now I was qualified to enter the GNC 2010 IFBB North American Championships taking place a week after the Canadian Nationals.  This would be show number 9 within my year and a half comeback and it would also be my first International show. I knew the competition would be tougher than at the Canadian Nationals because now I was competing with athletes from the USA, Mexico and Canada!  My husband and I made our way to Cleveland, Ohio to take on the North American stage!  All of my preparation and determination came to a wonderful finish.  I won my Class A Division in Bikini, went on to win the Overall Bikini title…AND won my IFBB PRO card status!
The feeling I had as they called my name for the Overall, was absolutely thrilling!   I had the vision in my mind all throughout my prep and I stayed on the path to accomplish my goal!  It was worth every sacrifice, every obstacle, and every pain and tear I went through, to achieve it!
